Systems Engineering (SE), a leading IT strategy integrator and managed IT services provider, has been named one of the 2017 Best Places to Work in Maine. The awards program is designed to identify, recognize and honor the best places of employment in Maine. This year, 80 companies made the list. Systems Engineering will be recognized at the Best Places to Work in Maine awards ceremony on October 10, 2017. At that event, the top 10 companies from each category, based on size — small (15-49 U.S. employees), medium (50-249 U.S. employees) and large (250+ U.S. employees) — will be announced.
“We’re honored to be recognized for the fourth consecutive year, and excited to see the final results in October,” said Susan Massey, HR Manager, Systems Engineering. “There are so many great firms on the list, and to be included among them says so much about our employee owners and our service culture.”
To be eligible for the award, companies had to meet the following requirements:
- Have at least 15 employees working in Maine,
- Be a for-profit or not-for-profit business or government entity,
- Be a publicly or privately held business,
- Have a facility in the State of Maine and,
- Must be in business a minimum of one year.
Eligible companies then had to complete a two-part submission process. Phase one evaluated the company's workplace policies, practices, and demographics, and represented 25% of the total score. Phase two involved an extensive employee survey designed to measure the employee experience, and represented 75% of the total evaluation. The combined scores determined the top Maine companies to make the list, and the final top 10 rankings. Best Companies Group managed the overall registration and survey process in Maine, and analyzed the data to determine the 2017 list and final rankings.
The Best Places to Work in Maine awards program was created in 2006 and is a project of the Society for Human Resource Management - Maine State Council (MESHRM) and Best Companies Group. Partners endorsing the program include: Mainebiz, the Maine State Chamber of Commerce and Maine HR Convention.
