In this quarter's SE Spotlight, we decided to highlight the amazing interns  who are with us over the summer. This talented group of students and graduates joined Systems Engineering (SE) to receive real-world job experience and hone the skills they already have while learning new ones. SE Spotlight provides a brief look at our 2018 interns:

Department: Help Desk
School: Southern Maine Community College

SE: What you are looking forward to learning while at SE this summer?
Adam: I’m looking forward to increasing my knowledge of Exchange Server, Active Directory, Azure, VMWare, and SharePoint. I would also like to further familiarize myself with SE’s software and tech services.

SE: What do you like to do outside of work?
Adam: Although I took a hiatus from performing to concentrate on school, I play upright bass and guitar when outside of work. I also enjoy hiking, playing video games, and spending time with my stepson. I am constantly striving to learn new things and love discovering local craft beers in addition to new restaurants.

Brennan: I’m excited use the data analytics tools offered by Microsoft, specifically Power BI and Azure Machine Learning Studio.  I have no prior experience with data analytics, but Microsoft has seemingly taken the complexity out of being a data scientist with these tools.

SE: What are you passionate about?
Brennan: I'm into exercises of all types including hiking, biking, trail running with my dogs, snowboarding, yoga, and more.  My favorite is weight-lifting where I pick things up and put them back down.
