Today, Systems Engineering (SE) announced that the company has made changes and is deepening its senior leadership team to help the company accelerate its growth while still providing superior customer service to its more than 500 clients. The changes were prompted by the company's recent expansion into Manchester, New Hampshire.
"We've always been forward thinking about succession planning and leadership, having transitioned from a founder-run company to an employee-owned and team-led company in 2008," noted the company's new President, Matt McGrath. "As we thought about how we wanted to move the company forward, it made sense to add to our senior leadership experience and to make changes to how we operate as a team."
Senior Leadership Team Changes
Craig Tribuno, President of the employee-owned company since 2013, will now assume the role of CEO and Chairman of the Board. He will focus on business growth and community engagement.
Matt McGrath, the company’s Director of Engineering for the last four years, has been promoted to President. As the company’s third President in its nearly 30-year history, McGrath will be responsible for leading Systems Engineering strategically and operationally.
John Sterling, previously with CashStar, Inc., joined Systems Engineering on Monday, October 16. Sterling takes on the Director of Engineering role previously held by McGrath, and will serve on the company’s leadership team.
Earlier this summer, Eric Tennyson joined the company from WEX, Inc. as Director of Finance and Administration, a new role on the senior leadership team.
Thoughts from the Senior Leadership Team
We've asked the leadership team about what this news means to the company, its clients, and to its employee owners. Here's what they had to say:
Craig Tribuno, CEO and Chairman of the Board
"Over the past five years, our company, which now has 150 employees and is growing, has nearly doubled in size. Our objective is to ensure that Systems Engineering remains sustainable and continues its nearly 30-year path of growth and innovation. By looking ahead, we bring value to our customers and our employee owners."
Matt McGrath, President
"I am really excited about the opportunity to play a bigger role in enabling our customers and employees to prosper. I want SE to be the best place to work by providing the best employee experience. In addition, I want to enable our customers to utilize world-class technology, allowing them to compete and succeed at any level they choose."
Eric Tennyson, Director of Finance and Administration
"I believe we have a great team and the right people to attack issues while also serving our local market. I look forward to expanding into new geographies while growing our people and ensuring a successful future for the company. This will allow us to drive positive shareholder value."
Todd Molloy, Director of Sales and Marketing
"These changes position SE for another generation of steady and responsible growth, quality customer service, and the provision of technology tools that our customers can leverage for their own productivity. Providing depth to the senior leadership team allows us to build stability and business continuity for all involved."
Adam Victor, Director of Advisor Services
"We're too big to be small and we're too small to be big, but I like the idea that we have people from different places, times, and companies who have lived through changes like these. There's a diversity in experience that we've brought in — both internally and externally. With continued investment in our local and new territories, I expect our managed services to continue to grow."
Mark Benton, Director of Product Development
"We're able to do a deeper dive into the value we're bringing to clients. Customer expectations have changed and we're now clearly focused on delivering on a higher quality of service by implementing the tools to make that happen. It's unlikely that other service providers will be as involved in tools and quality."
John Sterling, Director of Engineering
"I'm excited to get to know our clients and understand their technical challenges so that we can resolve them. Working for an employee-owned company is exciting. It's nice to know that everyone is in IT together and that we're all working towards the same goals."
